MEET THE STAFF

Head Coach Matt Riddell

2nd year on Staff-1st as Head Coach

Coach Riddell took over as interim head coach midway through the 2013 campaign and quickly added stability and structure to the program. He was retained and has built an excellent staff filled with former Division I and II standouts as well as some local long time coaches.

Coach made a name for himself in the semi-pro ranks coaching the S. Maine Raging Bulls to an undefeated Championship in 2001, the first for a team from Maine since 1968. Most recently he was on staff for the Maine Sabers and held multiple positions in the Bonny Eagle Program.

Coach Riddell will serve as the team offensive coordinator and with his offensive style the RAMS will be able to adapt to changing game conditions and be in positon to win year after year.

Asst. Head Coach Rob Susi

1st year on Staff-Defensive Cooridnator

Coach Susi Joins the staff after 4 succesful years at South Portland as the Defensive Cooridnator. He has also coached at Falmouth High School and has roots in the Semi Pro ranks as well serving at the DC for Maine Sabers in 2012-2013.

Coach was a stand out at Waterville High School and went on to play at the University of Maine as well as Boston University.

He is currently the resource officer at Falmouth High School.

JV Head Coach Todd Peacock

1st year on Staff-1st as JV Head Coach- DB'S AND WR'S

Coach Peacock is a former Freshman Head Coach and Varsity Asst at Brunswick High School, the school he once starred at in the late 80's. He went on to play at the Univerisy of Maine as a Defensive Back and was a stand out Semi-Pro Player in both the EFL and NEFL. He most recently was the Defensive Back Coach for the Maine sabers. Coach brings a great deal of passion and knowledge on the field and in the weightroom. Coach is an avid runner and has competed in Marathons.

Line Backer Coach Rob Keirsted

2nd year on Staff

Coach Kiersted comes back to us in a different role this year as he raises his young family. Coach is a local hero in Maine football, playing on multiple state champion South Portland teams and later becoming a 3 year starter at Linebacker of UMO. Coach also enjoys playing baseball and coaching his sons in football and baseball.

Bill Presby

21st year on staff

Coach Presby enters his 21st year on staff for the Deering Rams Football Program. He has been a part of 13 State Championships in Various Sports at Deering High School. His Knowledge of Football and Coaching are irreplaceable. Having Influenced almost 3 generation of young men he has clearly left his mark on the community.

Freshman Assistant

Scott "Bubba" Gullatt

1st year on staff

Coach Bubbz comes to us from Gorham after a stellar Playing Career as a Member of the S. Maine Raging Bulls of the New England Football League and was the starting Fullback on Coach RIddell's 2001 NEFL Championship Team.

Coach Gullat brings an array of knowledge both on the field and in the weight room and is an up and coming coach in Southern Maine.

D-line/Tight Ends NICK WILSON

1st year on staff

The former All-State Tight End From Bonny Eagle Joins the Staff after succesfull stints as an All-Conference Def Tackle at Umaine and New England Football League All-Star.

Nick brings great passion and knowledge not only as a football player, but in the weightroom as well,

He is currently a Pre-School Director in Cape Elizabeth

JV Asst/Strength/Speed Coach

Jack Cassidy

1st year on staff

Coach Cassidy is a Portland Fire FIghter and Personal Trainer that brings a level of expertize to the staff unmatched accross the state. He is the proud holder of 3 MASTER DEGREES and Multiple Cerifications which include:

NSCA-CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists) . NASM-PES (Performance Enhancement Specialist) . NASM-CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist)

Jack gives the Rams an edge in offseason training and injury prevention like no other school in the city.
